Dr. Amram Bengio obtained his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Rice University, while being jointly co-advised by Professor Matteo Pasquali at Rice University in Houston and Professor Ishi Talmon at the Israeli Institute of Technology in Haifa. During his graduate studies, Amram authored 11 publications in the field of carbon nanotubes which have collectively garnered over 1,100 citations. Amram also worked at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) lab in Boulder on the characterization of carbon nanotube antennas. Since obtaining his PhD, Amram founded Wootz along with two co-founders to scale up the manufacturing of high-performance aligned carbon nanotube materials at a cost that makes sense for target verticals in e-textiles and overhead transmission lines.
