David Horsup is the Vice President of ChampionX’s External Technology and Strategy Group. He is passionate about driving innovation, ‘connecting the dots’ between disparate industries to solve the toughest challenges facing the energy sector. He also leads the development of the sustainability strategy for the Chemical Technologies business. Previously, David was the Vice President of Nalco Champion’s global RD&E function and has served in various upstream and downstream technology leadership positions during his 28 years in the oil and gas industry.

David holds a Ph.D. in Emulsion and Surfactant Science and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from The University of Hull, United Kingdom. He has authored numerous papers and patents in the area of oilfield technology. He currently serves on Singapore’s A*STAR Technical Review Board for Energy and Chemicals, the Technical Advisory Boards of Pumps and Pipes and the Technology Collaboration Center Houston, and is a board member of the People Helping People Foundation International - a non-profit dedicated to helping the poorest of the poor in the Philippines.
