Russell Wilkerson is Chief Corporate Affairs Officer for Baker Hughes.
In this role, Wilkerson is responsible for driving a unified approach for stakeholder engagement and strategic positioning to strengthen Baker Hughes as a leading energy technology company. The Corporate Affairs function includes global communications, external affairs, community relations, and brand marketing. Before being promoted to his current role in April 2020, Wilkerson served as Chief Communications Officer for Baker Hughes since 2017.
Wilkerson has more than 25 years of experience leading communications for large, global businesses across a number of industries. Prior to Baker Hughes, he spent more than ten years running communications in GE, including GE Power and GE Capital. He also served as the head of GE’s financial communications, overseeing multi-billion dollar acquisitions and dispositions and the company’s response to the 2008 financial crisis. Wilkerson previously held a number of strategic communications leadership roles in Fortune 500 telecommunications companies and in the U.S. Senate.
Wilkerson holds a bachelor's degree in American History from Washington and Lee University, and a master's degree in business administration from the John Hopkins University Carey Business School.
